Sriram Polytechnic College, Chennai, was started in the year 1984 and is one of the pioneer polytechnic colleges in Perumalpattu, Veppampattu. This affiliated college, recognised by AICTE, offers diploma courses in different streams of engineering. Located on a 5-acre piece of land, the college currently takes 687 students and employs 41 teaching staff members. Being a technical college, in particular a polytechnic college, Sriram Polytechnic College offers 6 courses under 1 degree, and courses include mechanical, electrical, electronics, computer, automobile, and civil engineering.

Sriram Polytechnic College boasts of the availability of all-round facilities that can improve the learning abilities of the college students. These include two self-contained hostels: boys’ hostels with a capacity of 250 students and girls’ hostels with a capacity of one hundred and fifty students. These hostels are fitted with good-standard gyms so that the students can be able to exercise. The Kaos developed includes a bio gas plant for the preparation of food that is healthy for students and all other staff members. Recognition of health is another practice embraced by the college and it has equipped a medical officer to attend to everyone in the college twice a week.
