St Joseph's Academy of Higher Education and Research, Idukki, is a co-educational affiliated college with the approval of the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). The St Joseph's Academy of Higher Education and Research provides a vast array of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in various streams such as commerce, computer applications, physical education, and actuarial science.
For most of the undergraduate courses, eligibility for St Joseph's Academy of Higher Education and Research admission generally means passing 10+2 from a recognised board. For professional courses such as B.P.Ed (Bachelor of Physical Education) and B.P.E.S (Bachelor of Physical Education and Sports), there are additional entrance tests and physical fitness tests.
Applications to St Joseph's Academy of Higher Education and Research, Idukki, differ depending on the course:
The college provides a detailed admission process for every course. Below is the admission process of each course:
Several B.Com courses are available in the institute, such as Finance and Taxation, Computer Applications, Cooperation, and Logistics Management. St Joseph's Academy of Higher Education and Research admissions in all the courses are on merit of the candidate in the qualifying examination (10+2). Total intake for B.Com Computer Applications is 120 (80 regular + 40 Model II).
The intake for BCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications) course is 60 seats. St Joseph's Academy of Higher Education and Research admission would presumably be based on merit in the qualifying exam.
B.P.Ed (Bachelor of Physical Education) is having an intake capacity of 100 seats, admission to this course is a whole selection process. It comprises a written test, sports proficiency test, physical fitness test, and marks obtained in the qualifying examination.
B.P.E.S. (Bachelor of Physical Education and Sports) course is for 24 seats. St Joseph's Academy of Higher Education and Research admission is the same as for B.P.Ed but with different tests and academic qualifications being taken into account.
The Bachelor of Coaching in Sports and Games course for 30 seats also has the same type of admission procedure as B.P.Ed. and B.P.E.S., taking into account both academic performance and physical fitness.
The intake of BA Animation and Graphic Design course is 25 seats. Though there are no admission requirements mentioned, it would probably look at the candidate's creative portfolio and performance in academics.
Admission to the M.P.Ed (Master of Physical Education) postgraduate course is 20 seats through an entrance test with a written test, fitness test, interview, and looking at the percentage in the qualifying examination.
There are 15 seats for M.Sc. Actuarial Science postgraduate qualification. The entry requirements presumably concern performance at the corresponding undergraduate degree.
To complete the St Joseph's Academy of Higher Education and Research admission formalities, all listed documents must be provided.
