Star Lion College of Education situated at Thanjavur was founded in 2006 which is a renowned institution commitments to carving future education. It is a co-educational college in Ayyampet, Papanasam Taluk of Thanjavur district and spread over 3.8825 acres of land. Affiliated to the Sharada Group of Colleges, independent recognition by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) has been achieved thereby emphasising its strong proposition of providing quality teacher education.

Star Lion College of Education has installed a number of facilities which help in making a rational impact on the learning opportunities of the students. Knowledge centre of a library is very systematic and oriented and has well-equipped technology lab and sophisticated working laboratories. There is an auditorium available for various occasions, for instance, events and seminar to ensure an active academic community. The Star Lion College of Education at the moment only has one course offer for students – The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) programme.
