Surya School of Engineering and Technology (SSET) was started in 2008 and is situated in Villupuram, Tamil Nadu. This affiliated college established and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education. It offers a number of engineering and management courses. Located in a 10.38 acres campus, SSET has a total student enrolment of 622 and faculty members of 117. There are 15 courses available in the institute at three degrees including engineering and technology, artificial intelligence, data science, and management programmes.

Surya School of Engineering and Technology is affiliated with Anna University, Chennai. Surya School of Engineering and Technology has a vision to deliver the best of the facilities to the students so that they can improve their understanding. A CNC Lab, a CAD Lab as well a Automobile Component Lab are some sophisticated laboratories established for the college where all the departments are well facilitated. An automated library with a rich stock of books to meet the study needs of the students and the faculty is there in the college. The campus has boys' and girls' hostels for full-time students with the endeavour to provide them the best experience of hostel living. In addition to livelihood and academics, SSET provides outdoor sports for bodily working, for example, cricket or volleyball, or indoor games such as chess or table tennis. The college has a gym and a 300-seater air-conditioned hall for various seminars, courses, events and functions, among others.

Surya School of Engineering and Technology offers diverse programmes that include 10 undergraduate courses and five postgraduate courses. These include the conventional engineering disciplines of Civil, BE Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical Engineering, the emerging disciplines of B.Tech Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Cyber Security and many others. The MBA programme is a new product in the course offerings of the institute that introduces a management perspective. Every course is full-time and the total approved cohort capacity is 622 students in all programmes.

The undergraduate degree programmes of engineering are offered at SSET through counselling for admission conducted by the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission. As for postgraduate courses including MBA, the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test or TANCET scores are used. However, for instance, the CEETA-PG is considered for admission into some of the courses offered at the institute. SSET keeps on focusing on quality education to make sure that students acquire quality education and training through a well articulated curriculum and competent faculty that will transform these students into professional individuals.
