Sw Shree Puran Ramprakash Dixit Mahavidyalaya, Gahrauli, established in 2014 is a constituent unit as well as an affiliated college under the U. P. Right to Higher Educational Institutions Ordinance 1955 as amended vide section 2-f and a Government College situated in Hamirpur, Uttar Pradesh. It is certified by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and offers quite a wide variety of courses in education. The college boasts of having a huge sprawling campus area of 9 acres. Since the total student enrolment is 2,016 and the faculty strength is 30, the college will have four different courses with the respective degree courses. 

Sw Shree Puran Ramprakash Dixit Mahavidyalaya specialises in education and agricultural science and seeks to provide quality educational needs for this region. The college has dedicated itself to a learning-friendly atmosphere for its students. It offers various facilities to enhance its learners' knowledge and lives. The campus is well-endowed with laboratories for practical education, which benefits the students in the agricultural sciences field. Sw Shree Puran Ramprakash Dixit Mahavidyalaya offers four full-time courses including arts and the liberal arts courses. These are the Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed), Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed), Bachelor of Arts (BA), and the Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Science (B.Sc Agricultural Science). 

Admission procedure varies with courses here at Sw Shree Puran Ramprakash Dixit Mahavidyalaya. Admissions are made as per marks gained in the qualifying examination and an entrance test with a relevant relaxation policy of the state government/UT administration for B.El.Ed, D.El.Ed and B.Sc Agricultural Science programs. In case of BA, admission is merit-based where admission is done according to the student's performance in the qualifying examinations.
