Swami Vivekananda Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Vangapally (SVIPS) is a leading educational institution in the field of pharmaceutical sciences. This co-educational institution was started in the year 2007 and is situated in Vangapally Village, Yadagirigutta Mandal, Nalgonda District, Telangana. SVIPS is an affiliated college having an area of 2.5 acres which is located in Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). The institute has 4 programmes in its catalogue and they are all offered under 2 degree programmes, the pharmaceutical sciences programmes. SVIPS is student-centred institution which offers an enrolment capacity of 201 students and a teaching staff of 39 faculty members.

Swami Vivekananda Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences uses various learning facilities intended for group work to improve students learning experience. Based on the present collection, the library can be counted as the richest information centre containing more than 4 000 books of national and foreign authors and different publishers. It also has receipt of reputed print & electronic journals and e-books also. As part of practical training, SVIPS has functional departmental laboratories. The campus provided different hostels for boys and girls so that the out-station students can comfortably stay. First aid facilities are a health centre for students’ medical cares depending on different injuries or diseases. It also has provisions for an all-round development including having a sports arena and a gym. For academic activities, SVIPS has well developed IT facilities and an elaborate facility of an auditorium and seminar hall. Socialise area: The campus cafeteria is for students to socialise while a transport facility is available to ease transport for students and staff.

To meet all these career objectives, SVIPS presents 4 courses. The institute provides one undergraduate programme, B.Pharma, with an intake of 60 students, and three postgraduate programmes: M.Pharma in Pharmaceutical Analysis, M.Pharma in Pharmaceutics and M.Pharma in Pharmacology each having a sanctioned strength of fifteen students. All courses are offered on a full time basis so as to afford students opportunity for concentrated study. The total approved intake for all courses is one hundred and five per year so as to ensure quality provision through regulation of large class sizes.

The admission exercise of SVIPS is therefore keen on enrollment of the brightest students for their pharmaceutical courses. For B.Pharma programme, admission depends on a candidate’s academic achievement and entrance examination. For M.Pharm programmes, pragmatis get selection through national level GPAT or state level TS PGECET etc. These examination test the intelligence of the candidates in pharmaceutical sciences and the level of knowledge that the university’s admitted students has to make them capable of advancing to the next level.
