Swetha Institute of Technology and Science for Women came into existence in the year 2008 at Tirupati in the Chittoor District of Andhra Pradesh. The affiliated college is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi. The various engineering programmes are imparted to the budding women engineers, housing 83 students and 12 faculty members for a focused learning environment.
Swetha Institute of Technology and Science for Women is affiliated with Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTUA), Anantapur. The infrastructure is complete and developed to suit the academic mission of the institute. There is a full-fledged library that acts as the knowledge hub for the institution, stocking thousands of books, journals, and digital resources; it also subscribes to e-journals from reputable publishers. Francium Tech has student laboratories equipped with state-of-the-art facilities in various disciplines of engineering. There are girls' as well as boys' hostels on the campus.
It is basically a women's institute, so most importantly, there is a safe and comfortable living environment for out-of-station students. A well-equipped gym, sports facilities, and an auditorium contribute toward the holistic development of students. The college has a hospital for healthcareneeds and provides transport services for commuting students and staff.
In all, 14 courses are offered at Swetha Institute of Technology and Science for Women, and these are all full-time programmes. Thus, the institute assumes a degree-level undergraduate engineering approach, with courses provided in the form of B.Tech, M.Tech, and diplomas. The various B.Tech programmes are Computer Science Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. The M.Tech programmes are VLSI, Computer Science, Computer Science Engineering, etc.

Admissions to Swetha Institute of Technology and Science for Women are based on the Andhra Pradesh Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test. This state entrance examination is considered the prime gateway admission process for students aspiring to different programmes in engineering studies within the institute curriculum. The said college accepts AP EAMCET scores for its B.Tech programmes.
