Takshashila Mahavidyalaya, Amravati, was established in the year 1984. It is a co-educational affiliated college having its Campus at Shyam Nagar, Amravati, Maharashtra. This institute got accreditation from NAAC and has a manifold Undergraduate and Postgraduate curriculum. Spread over a compact area of 0.74 acres, this college currently has a total enrolment of 666 students enrolled, with a gender ratio nearly 3:2 in favor of the boys. The college has a 14-member teaching faculty and imparts 11 courses within 8 degree programmes which specialise in arts, commerce, and computer applications.

The main aim of Takshashila Mahavidyalaya is to provide comprehensive learning to the students. It has facilities for academics and extracurricular activities. This campus consists of the well-developed laboratories to put the theoretical knowledge into practice, a library that is fully equipped with all the relevant books that students need, and modern IT infrastructure that aids digital learning. For the physical health of the student, there are provisions of sports facilities and a gym. 

There is also an auditorium where different events and many seminars take place regularly in a semester, and in this way, it ensures happy campus life. Takshashila Mahavidyalaya operates a sum total of 11 courses of both under-graduation and post- graduation level. Under-Graduation level courses consist of full-time BA, B.Com., BCA, BBA and BJMC. It offers postgraduate programmes like a programme in MA in Political Science, Pali Prakrit, History, and Marathi. The total student intake sanctioned by the college for all the courses amounts to 1140, with BA taking the highest intake of 320 students.
