The TGL Gopalsetty Polytechnic has its establishment during the year 1982 from the Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh. The college is located at TGK Nagar, Adoni, within a 5-acre campus and offers many diploma courses in engineering disciplines. Total student enrolment in this polytechnic is 298, with faculty strength numbering 29 members that provide a focused learning ambience. It has five different diploma courses; all are conducted under one degree programme and branch specific.

TGL Gopalsetty Polytechnic  has many amenities for advanced learning for students. The college library is a resource centre and hence allows the students access to the technical literature and a battery of reference materials. The institution has very good IT infrastructure such that an individual comes out well conversant with the room technology in their field. Besides, polytechnics are endowed with well-equipped department-related laboratories with all facilities to help students obtain practical experience coupled with theoretical knowledge in a real-world situation. TGL Gopalsetty Polytechnic offers a total of five courses; all the courses belong to the engineering stream. Each diploma course lasts for three years, which gives ample scope for the entire curriculum to be covered, as well as enough time for practical training.

The admission process at TGL Gopalsetty Polytechnic is conducted concurrently through a centralised system done by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Vijayawada. The Polytechnic takes the students who have taken the Common Entrance Examination, which normally takes place each year in the month of May. This is strictly adhered to and therefore ensures that there is fairness plus that of merit in the admission of all the courses that take place in the polytechnic.
