The affiliated college, named the Enlightened College of Physical Education, Jhunir, was found in the year 2016 and located in Punjab, India. This co-educational institution is located on the Sardulgarh Road near Bhakhra Canal and recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). It is a 12-acre campus, and presently it has four professional courses in physical education. The cumulative strength of the institute for student enrolment is 462 and the total faculty strength of the institute is 11, so the institute offers a compact learning scenario for physical education. The fact that the college focused on offering quality education is manifested in the fact that it offered and still offers both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in physical education.

The Enlightened College of Physical Education, an affiliated college of Punjabi University, Patiala, has all the necessary facilities that can enhance the learners academic and personal lives. Some of the amenities include a modern, air-conditioned gym with equipment and trainers. Students have the advantage of studying on a campus with WAN connectivity that facilitates operation on the internet for learning. The college has accommodation in separate hostels for boys and girls with various amenities, including recreational facilities, water, and electricity supply, with round-the-clock availability. Transportation of students from nearby areas is enhanced by a convoy of 20 buses. It also has many cafeterias for the provision of fresh and clean food for students to take a snack. Effective academic support is provided for through such facilities as colourful laboratories, a library, and a mitten auditorium for functions and seminars.

The institute teaches four full-time courses in physical education; it caters for all levels of study. These are three undergraduate courses: BPE, B.P.Ed., and D.P.Ed., and one postgraduate course, namely M.P.Ed. The total number of approved intakes across all the courses is 290 students per year and the highest number of intakes in BPE and B.P.Ed. is 100 students. This diverse array of programmes enables students to do their best to select the programme that corresponds to their further specialisation in the sphere of physical education as a profession.

The enrolment criteria of The Enlightened College of Physical Education differ based on the programme of study. For the B.P.Ed. programme, admission is made through a written test conducted by the P.G.D. college for Punjab Government rules. The M.P.Ed. programme lays down a refined procedure for selection from the university level, which involves writing an ability test (entrance test), a physical fitness test, an interview test, and a class percentage for the qualifying examination.
