The Kavery College of Education is a relatively young College of Teacher education that was started in the year 2005 at Mecheri and is a well-known institution for education in Salem, Tamil Nadu. This university-feeder, co-educational institution is committed to producing quality teachers and educational leaders. The college occupies a vast area of 5.01 acres, which provide a favourable environment for effective learning and development. The institute approves the programmes by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), thereby providing quality education in the field of teacher training. The college currently caters to a total of 214 students and the college faculty includes a total of 21 teachers, thus keeping the student-teacher ratio very low, which makes it easier for the faculty to indulge and mentor the students.

The Kavery College of Education has two full-time courses in the stream of education that it provides for undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. The Bachelor of Education program or B.Ed. programme with hundred seats laid down for having qualitative teacher education. To enhance the qualification and experience in the education field, a Master of Education (M.Ed.) programme is provided with 50 seats. Both programmes take two years to complete and equip the student with necessary knowledge and practical skills for successful teaching. Likewise, in the case of the selection of candidates in the M.Ed. programme, an extra emphasis is placed on the results of the qualifying examination/entrance test so that the deserving candidates get admission only.
