Thiruvalluvar College of Education for Women, Madurai, was established in 2005 as an Affiliated College for Women College offering Women Education in the Teaching Field. The campus of this institution is set at Mallappuram, Elumalai, Madurai, Tamil Nadu, and occupies 5 acres of territory. The college is recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) to maintain compliance with the central guidelines followed in the area of teacher education. October 2008 updated enrolment records show that the entire student population of the college is 479 students, while that of the faculties is 11, and the college presently provides two teaching programmes in education. Such a policy of women education is seen at this institute in the sense that it only enrols female students to increase gender diversity in the teaching profession.
