TJS Engineering College is a self-financing college, which is affiliated to the Thiruvallur, Tamil Nadu and started its functioning from the year 2009. Located in a vast area of 11.02 acres, Separate Boys and Girls Hostel, Mess, New Campus of management and engineering study. Approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), TJS Engineering College has carved a niche for itself in this area of the country. The total strength of student intake is 773 and the faculty strength is 96 which gives a proper environment for college learning. The institution teaches 10 courses in 3 degree programmes and focuses on engineering and management fields.

TJS Engineering College is affiliated with Anna University, Chennai. TJS Engineering College has numerous facilities, some of which are modern, to aid in the college's academic activities. The facility has Department-specific workshops and well-equipped laboratories for practical assimilation by the students. Modern library is also important, where students can get books, journals and online facilities, which fulfils the requirement of a library. The library also has an e-journal and e-book collection in DELNET, and an NPTEL video lecture facility. In regard to students’ physical fitness, there is a modern, air-conditioned gym and very good facilities for sports which can be played indoors and outdoors. The campus consists of male and female hostels to ensure students and/orresidents have a comfortable stay. A clean canteen, transport services and accommodation of the guests add to the beauty of a university or college campus.

As indicated earlier, TJS Engineering College offers full-time programmes with special emphasis on undergraduate engineering courses and postgraduate courses. There are 7 BE programmes, 2 ME programmes and one MBA programme offered by the institution. The total intake for all courses according to the approval of JNTU is 387 students, and the maximum intake is 90 for BE Computer Science and Engineering. Some of the other favoured programmes are BE Electronics and Communication Engineering, BE Mechanical Engineering and B.Tech Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, with a total intake of sixty seats for each programme. The college also provides postgraduate courses like ME VLSI Design and ME Computer Science Engineering for the students who want to take it to the next level.

The admission criteria of TJS Engineering College are simple and uncomplicated, based on the merit score only. Undergraduate engineering programmes, CEETA-PG scores are also recognised by the college for admission to the university. This particular exam assists in evaluating the subjects’ ability to embrace engineering education. The college also uses the candidates’ performance in the respective qualification examinations while making its placements. For postgraduate programmes such as MBA and ME programmes, the following requirements may be considered: entrance examination results and academic performance records.
