University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research in Faridkot (UIPSR) is a constituent college founded in 2011. This institute has grown rapidly over a short period and is based in Faridkot, Punjab. Being situated in a small plot of 0.75 acre of land, UIPSR is designed to provide an intimate teaching premises for students who intend to study pharmacy. The basic B.Pharma programme takes four years and has 60 students enrolment and the B.Pharma Lateral Entry programme which is a three year programme has 4 students intake. M.Pharma in Pharmaceutics is a two year course which postulates students in this important bracket of pharmacy. B.Pharma: The Bachelor of Pharmacy programme at UIPSR is to be completed over four years and has an annual student intake of 60. Entry into this scheme depends on the passing out by candidates at the relevant entrance examinations and the 10+2 examination results. The institution uses a merit-based method considering the points acquired in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology for its selection process
B.Pharma lateral entry: This is a B.Pharma programme that admits any qualified student directly into second year, having a Diploma in Pharmacy, for example:; three years of study for a total intake of 4 students a year into this programme. The candidates must have completed their diploma in a Pharmacy course from a recognised body to be eligible for this lateral entry option.
M.Pharma Pharmaceutics: This is a two-year postgraduate programme offered by UIPSR in the Master of Pharmacy in Pharmaceutics. There is an intake of 6 students for this specialisation. UIPSR admission to the M.Pharma programme is usually based on the candidate's performance in a pertinent entrance examination (such as GPAT) and B.Pharma degree results. A personal interview may also form part of the selection process to assess a candidate's research aptitude and subject knowledge.
