Vardhman Shiksha Mahavidyalaya is the educational institution located in Katni, Madhya Pradesh, which is to build the future of young teachers. This affiliated college came into existence in year 2008 and is imparting education and training to the pedagogical talents for more than a decade now. Located at a small piece of land measuring 0.80071 acre, the institute has designed its small compact campus to facilitate students’ learning. The college has a total number of 197 students and 16 faculty members which provide a better staff student ratio to give proper attention to each student.

Vardhman Shiksha Mahavidyalaya carries numerous infrastructures that aim at improving the learning process of students in the college. As part of the main learning resources in academic institutions, a library is considered an essential facility to showcase many educative resource materials available to the students. In terms of teaching practice, there are departmental practical laboratory facilities at the college as shown below. The campus also comes equipped with s canteen that meets staff and students’ dietary requirements. Health and fitness are considered important with a healthcare facility provided with first aid departments. In accordance with present IT standards the college has well established IT facilities. There are accommodation facilities specifically for those who have an interest in sports and other sporting activities as there are sporting facilities. 

Two full time courses are offered by the college in the stream of education, which has a strength of 150 students. Intake capacity of the two year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) programme is hundred students. There is another two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) programme for 50 students for those who want to focus on BLACK alone. These two programmes are intended to prepare students with interdisciplinary content knowledge and teach them skills required to become good teachers.

The admission procedure at Vardhman Shiksha Mahavidyalaya is centralised on the basis of Mark-Score obtained by the candidate in the qualifying examination. For B.Ed programme, The admissions are done on merit score card in the entrance examination/test or any other criteria announced from time to time as per the policy of state government/UT Administration and the University. Likewise, in case of D.El.Ed programme, admission shall be made on merit basis on marks obtained in the qualifying examination and on the basis of entrance test as has been prescribed by the state government or UT Administration. The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) has approved and recognised, Vardhman Shiksha Mahavidyalaya for its commitment to its standard of education for teachers. This accreditation tries to ensure that the quality of the education offered at the institute is top notch and is in touch with the world we live in. It also takes students of both genders and, therefore, promote equality of the sexes in the college.
