Vasantdada Sugar Institute Pune is one of the leading institutes in Maharashtra. VSI is an autonomous body which is a society registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 and under the Bombay Public Trusts Act, 1950. Established on 19 November, 1975, the institute was formerly known as Deccan Sugar Institute. Vasantdada Sugar Institute is recognised as a centre for research by the Department of Science and Technology of the Government of India. VSI Pune is affiliated with the Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune.
Vasantdada Sugar Institute offers postgraduate and PG Diploma programmes in science and technology.
