Veerangana Maharani Laxmibai Government Girls Degree College, Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, is one of the city's principal institutes with the cause of women's education at its core. The affiliated college was started in 1996. Since its inception more than two decades ago, the college has grown to the current number of students of 1,651 and 19 faculty members. At the advanced level, five postgraduate courses are available: MA in English, Sociology, Political Science, Geography, and Hindi, each of a two-year duration.
