Veterinary College, Hassan, was set up in the year 2007 and is one of the constituent colleges situated at Gokula Campus Vidyanagar Hassan, Karnataka. This premier institution is duly recognised by the Indian Council for Agricultural Research (ICAR) and is linked to the treatment, prevention and propagation of animal husbandry and veterinary science. Situated on an 80-acre-wide campus, this college provides an appropriate ambience for teaching and research in veterinary sciences. Currently, the college has a total of 358 students and 39 faculty, which keeps the good student-faculty ratio, which is very good for effectiveness and quality of education.

The college has made available numerous infrastructure factors with the aim of boosting the learning environment for the college’s learners. The campus has separate hostel facilities for boys and girls of the institution, which helps in providing good accommodation for the students. Durally, the Computer and IT Business Lab, e-learning library, and stacks of home and international journals add to the knowledge acquisition centres for learners as well as faculty members. The college is particularly proud of its professional veterinary laboratories that allow experiencing different facets of the field. To ensure comprehensive student development, the institute offers acupuncture, cafeteria services, first aid, a gymnasium, volleyball and basketballcourts. It also has a 150-seater seminar hall for seminars, cultural activities and other academic programmes to enhance the college campus.

Veterinary College, Hassan, provides a five-and-a-half-year degree course in B.V.Sc and AH. This programme takes six years to complete, and the course prepares students with the textbook knowledge as well as practical skills in veterinary science and management of animals. It will enable students to succeed in different areas of veterinary medicine, among them practice, research and advocacy for animals.
