Vidyalaya College of Education, Chittoor was established in 2003 and is a flagship institution in education shaping the future of education. Being a co-educational college, it provides specialisation in teacher education in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) accredited it and National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) recognised it for having quality learning standards. The college maintains a favourable student-teacher ratio because of an enrolment strength of 170 students and a faculty strength of 20.

Vidyalaya College of Education runs two courses. The two-year, full-time B.Ed course and the two-year, full-time M.Ed course are offered. B.Ed has 100 seats in approved intake and M.Ed takes 50 students. These programmes have been designed in such a way that the students are prepared to take up teaching careers and educational leadership of the best nature.

Vidyalaya College of Education offers merit-based admissions to students. Merit evaluation is adopted during admission to the B.Ed programme based on marks obtained in qualifying and entrance examinations. The policy of the state government/UT administration and the University is followed in the process of selection. Admission to the M.Ed programme is strictly based on merit computed over marks obtained in the qualifying examination, entrance examination, or any other procedure set up as per the guidelines of the state government, university/UT administration.
