Vidyasagar College of Arts and Science, Udumalpet (VCAS) is a leading college of education commenced in 1991. The college is situated in Udumalpet of Tamil Nadu as it covers the large area of 21.59 acres. Thus as an affiliated college VCAS has a wide spread array of course offerings with 28 courses available in 11 degree levels. The institute has an overall student enrolment of 1429 students and offers its services to the students through 76 humble employees especially the faculty members. VCAS offers its students quality education in arts, science, and commerce streams to fulfill the requirement of quality education in the indicated field by students in the region.

The target number five and five policy of the college claims to provide ample number of facilities to supplement learning facilities of the students. Vidyasagar College of Arts and Science has two hostels for the students one for the boys and the other for the girls to enhance convenience for students coming from different towns. Modern technology computers, internet services, and a health centre with a first aid kit is present to fit cases of health emergencies. College library is a source of information for the students and offers the students a rich collection of the college’s academic material. Those who prefer a more active lifestyle can find a number of playing fields as well as a very good sports complex and a new gym at VCAS. Vidyasagar College of Arts and Science is committed to an extensive academic curriculum that currently consists of 28 courses taught at multiple levels of education. These are undergraduate programmes as BA Tamil and English, B.Sc Computer Science, Mathematics and Information Technology, BCA, BBM, B.Com and BBA. For the postgraduate learners, the college offers MA English, M.Sc Computer Science and Mathematics, M.Com, and MSW. In addition, VCAS provides research based education through M.Phil programmes in Commerce, Computer Science, Tamil, English and Mathematics in full time as well as in part time basis. Also, there are doctoral programmes (Ph.D.) offered at the college: Commerce and Computer Science:Full-time and Part-time. This set of programmes offers flexibility and variety for students of different academic preferences and future professions and enrols the total of 1,429 students for all courses.

Admission is strictly given on merit basis. The college may use the marks in 12th standard or an equivalent examination for its undergraduate admissions and then the graduation marks for postgraduate course admissions. Scholarship based programmes such as M.Phil and Ph.D., may have entrance test and interview conducted by the college itself.
