    About Vijaya Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences for Women, Vijayawada

    Vijaya Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences for Women (VIPW) is a pioneering pharmacy education college among the few colleges of Andhra Pradesh. Established in the year 2009, in the historical city of Vijayawada, in the name of VIPW, it is a women's affiliated college under Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada, with an aim to provide qualitative pharmaceutical education. VIPW is an "A"-graded institution by NAAC and approved by PCI, assuring great academic robustness. The 1-acre campus has a total enrolment of 2,239 students, with a faculty strength of 53. VIPW offers 6 courses across 3 degrees, including diploma, undergraduate, and postgraduate studies in different pharmaceutical disciplines.

    The campus possesses well-equipped laboratories, a full-fledged library, and modern IT infrastructure to facilitate practical learning and research for students studying within the institute. VIPW also prepared a girl's hostel with quality accommodation for student comfortably and safety. The college believes in health and wellness, with first aid facilities covered by a medical centre. In the pursuit of promoting holistic education, VIPW has a series of other facilities like sports facilities and a cafeteria, an auditorium for events and seminars.     VIPW offers a very diversified range of pharmaceutical courses, from under-graduate to postgraduate programs. The institute curriculum encompasses 6 full-time courses which involve B.Pharma, M.Pharma with specialisations in Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, and Pharmaceutical Analysis, Pharma.D, and Pharma.D Post Baccalaureate. There is a total approved intake of 185 for these courses. 

    Admission procedure in VIPW is mostly entrance-based. Admission to B.Pharma and Pharma.D programs will be made through the Andhra Pradesh Engineering Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test. Admission to 2nd year of B.Pharma is done through lateral engineering entry through the Engineering Common Entrance Test. Admission to various postgraduate programs like M.Pharma will be done according to the Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test conducted by the institute or Andhra Pradesh Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test. The Pharma.D Post Baccalaureate course also accepts AP PGECET scores for admission. VIPW has provisions for scholarship opportunities, and more than 50 percent of the undergraduate students are provided reimbursement.

    •  Pass the GPAT or AP PGECET examination.
    •  Complete the application via the central VIPW admission procedure for PG courses available in Andhra Pradesh.
    •  Undergo the counselling procedure, stating VIPW as the first preference institution.
    •  Upon joining, undergo the admission process at VIPW, such as verification of documents and fee payment.

    VIPW Lateral Entry to B.Pharma Application Process

    •  Clear the ECET examination.

    VIPW Eligibility Process

    Eligibility criteria differ for the programme. For B.Pharma, 10+2 with Mathematics or Biology and Physics and Chemistry.     VIPW offers a 4-year B.Pharma programme based on ranks in AP EAMCET. VIPW intake for the programme is approved at 100. Lateral entry to 2nd year of B.Pharma can be gained through Engineering Common Entrance Test (ECET).

    VIPW M.Pharma Admission Process

    VIPW provides M.Pharma courses in three specialisations, namely Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, and Pharmaceutical Analysis. Admission is done based on GPAT or AP PGECET scores. Counselling for seat allotment is held as part of the VIPW admission procedure.

    VIPW Pharm.D Admission Process

    VIPW provides 6-year Pharm.D course takes candidates based on their AP EAMCET ranks.VIPW has a sanctioned intake of 30 seats for the course. The course includes both class room training and extensive practical experience.

    VIPW Pharm.D Post Baccalaureate Admission Process

    The 3-year course is meant for students of B.Pharma. VIPW admissions are through AP PGECET with a sanctioned intake of 10 seats. The course provides advanced pharmaceutical learning and research experience.
