Virangana Avanti Bai Government College, Chhuikhadan, was established on 23 July 1989 as a state-funded co-educational institution. Originally known as Government College Chhuikhadan, it is now affiliated with Hemchand Yadav Vishwavidyalaya, Durg. The college is strategically located on State Highway No. 5, about 56 km north of Rajnandgaon, and primarily serves rural and underprivileged communities, with around 95% of its students belonging to OBC, SC, and ST categories.

Virangana Avanti Bai Government College, Chhuikhadan  is an affiliated with the college Hemchand Yadav Vishwavidyalaya, Durg.  The college offers a variety of undergraduate programs, including Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) with 230 seats covering subjects like Hindi Literature, English Literature, Political Science, Sociology, History, Geography, and Economics; B.Sc. Mathematics Group and Biology groups, each having 80 seats; and Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) with 40 seats. Postgraduate programs include M.A. Sociology (45 seats) and M.A. in Geography (30 seats).
