Vivekananda Law College, Puttur, started in the year 1988, is affiliated and located in Nehru Nagar, Puttur, Karnataka. This established college, which is recognised by the Bar Council of India (BCI), provides education in specific areas of law in a 5-acre silent campus. With an enrolment capacity of 256 students and a faculty of 11 teaching staff, the college maintains a teacher-student ratio. Vivekananda Law College offers two law programmes: a three-year LL.B. programme and a five-year integrated B.A. LL.B., aimed at developing young legal minds.
Vivekananda Law College is affiliated with Karnataka State Law University (KSLU), Hubballi, Karnataka and is approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI). Vivekananda Law College possesses a great number of facilities that are aimed at improving the student experience and corresponding achievements. Having been considered a fundamental part of legal education, the library encompasses 12,838 volumes of books and 1,516 volumes of journals and reports for students’ access and use. The Moot Court Club provides incredible intramural work in that it affords students the opportunity to practice law through pre-procedure and trial attendance and legal assistance. For technology learning, the college offers a computer laboratory to facilitate students’ computer literacy for an effective and efficient approach towards their learning in law. The campus also has different hostels available for boys and girls, having a friendly, neat and safe atmosphere with basic amenities such as hot water, purified drinking water and banking with an attached ATM.
Vivekananda Law College makes available two courses, one of which is a full-time course that covers the different strata of legal education. These are the 3-year LLB and 5-year integrated and BA LLB programmes, which are the college’s stock in trade. The two programmes have an approved admission capacity of one hundred and twenty each, making it a total of two hundred and forty for any qualified candidate to join the faculty of law. These courses are intended to give knowledge about the basic principles of law, steps, and methods involving the profession to make effective and efficient professionals in the legal field.
