Westfort College of Nursing, Thrissur, was started in 2002 and is one of the top nursing colleges in Kerala, India. This co-educational college is situated at MG Kavu PO, Pottore, and is an affiliated college recognised by the Indian Nursing Council (INC). Having its own separate campus of 4.1 acres in Chhattisgarh, Westfort College of Nursing presently has 303 students enrolled in its various nursing courses. The college has the facility of 24 members, which provide individual care as well as a quality education system. The institution offers training in different specialisation fields of nursing by offering 7 courses spearheaded across 2 degree levels in order to prepare students for the competitive healthcare environment.

The college successfully aims to create the right atmosphere for learning among its learners. It also boasts of seven computerised laboratories equipped with simulators, models, and mannequins for practical purposes. The large library with CD library has a building of its own with 4000 textbooks, 150 liberal and 21 national and international journal subscriptions. Further, the library provides multiple courses of self-study with print and other electronic media resources to foster students’ education. College IT facilities add to student’s educational experiences and update them with advanced technology in health care.

Westfort College of Nursing provides the complete curriculum of nursing courses, right from the undergraduate to the postgraduate level. The institution provides two full-time undergraduate programmes: a B.Sc. Nursing course with 75 seats for four years and a Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing course with 10 seats for two years. Five M.Sc. nursing specialities are offered at the postgraduate level, each of which takes two years and enrols two aspirants per speciality. These are Master of Science in Medical Surgical Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Paediatric Nursing, Obstertric and Gynaecologic Nursing and Psychiatric Nursing. The college currently admits 95 students across all the courses offered, admitting that the college prides itself on quality education as it limits the intakes to enable it to maintain quality education.

The college has separate hostels for boys and girls available on a single, double, triple, and dormitory basis. These are well equipped with study halls and recreation facilities, making them perhaps the most student-like hostels. This college has a well-developed auditorium that can contain about one thousand five hundred workers and students for special occasions and recreation.
