Dear Aspirant,
Both options are good, however, MAMC, Delhi is a better one. This is primarily because of two main reasons. MAMC is a quite old and reputed institution in medical line, moreover, other than AIIMS Delhi, no other AIIMS is able to mark their presence so significantly.
Another important reason in DELHI. MAMC, because it is located in DELHI, it will give you better exposure and a good competitive environment rather than Raipur. If you want to prepare for NEET-PG, you could find various coachings and other resources in your city(DELHI) and could utilize them while doing your MBBS.
Hope this helps.
Comment your doubts. if any.
Thank You.
Hi arghya
Sometimes excellent Colleges produce mediocre doctors and even mediocre colleges produce excellent doctors..so its up to you.
AIIMS is a better option anyday. It needs no introduction and its tag will certainly help you in your future. It is a central institute and won't impose a bond unlike medical College for which you have to sign a bond worth 1lakh to WBMCC. Any interested student can learn and research themselves with the research labs in AIIMS. They can attend the clinical grand rounds and combined clinical rounds regularly at AIIMS.
Students get opportunity and guidance from the AIIMS alumni both nationally and globally, if they choose to approach them.
Experts in their respective departments are very organised and take a serious interest in teaching. Most clinical lectures are taken by faculties from super-specialities. The amalgamation of the top books and research in the field.
Hope this information helps.
Good luck!
Hello keerthi,
If you are getting AIIMS, then go for only AIIMS because they are the one of the institution in India.
Good luck
Hi Anjan
As you mentioned ,you secured AIR 1567 in AIIMS 2019 of general category. You have less chances of getting a medicals seat in AIIMS Raipur because if we consider last year's cutoff ,it was of 1145 rank.
and in 2017,it was 1536 rank. So,in my opnion ,just go for the counselling because cutoff varies a bit every year, and you have slight chances of getting a medical seat.
I hope this information proves helpful to you.
All the best
Jipmer enrolls more students every year than AIIMS so the student teacher ratio is higher in JIPMER. This carries forward to a higher student patient ratio when one patient is examined for a class, though it doesn't ordinarily affect learning,
AIIMS has a larger hospital, more patients, better equipment and hence your learning experience will be more thorough provided you take the interest to learn. From what I have heard, AIIMS teachers leave a lot of learning up to the students and if you don't want to learn you won't learn, but if you want to learn you can learn a lot. But in JIPMER the teachers teach a lot of theory and practice and even if you don't want to learn you end up learning. I know this is true for JIPMER, not sure if it's true for AIIMS.
The variety and types of cases you would see are probably similar since both serve as the major referral hospital in their region and receive all types of cases. Although AIIMS refers a lot of standard and simple cases to other hospitals so you will probably not see too many such cases while in JIPMER, you see all types of cases.
AIIMS has better research facilities and funding so if you do plan to do research projects you probably will be better equipped in AIIMS.
Internship in JIPMER is thorough, you don't have light postings and you learn a lot in internship. You also get a lot of hands on experience and clinical practice. From what I know in AIIMS, other than 4 or 5 months the rest of internship is not very thorough and the clinical training isn't as good.
Both colleges have strong alumni networks that and reservations for post graduation courses that help you get into good courses and jobs after finishing your studies
Delhi being a metropolitan city has better recreational activities. However if you're a fan of beaches, and calm and clean weather, Pondicherry is a win.
Pulse is the largest intercollegiate medical festival in the country and spandan is probably the second largest. Pulse definitely has better cultural activities while spandan definitely has better sporting ones.
As far as post graduation and superspecialty courses go, AIIMS is usually better barring one or two fields.
Like others have stated, if you get into either of these colleges you'll be in a pretty good position. But if you have a choice between AIIMS and JIPMER, then you should pick AIIMS.
thus go for aiims raipur
Hello Harsh!
Although AIIMS never releases the marks secured by a candidate during it's final list of selected candidates, yet examinees do get some idea of the exam calculating their marks.
With 120-130 on your dashboard, you would be having a great chance of securing a seat in AIIMS Raipur.
From the students as well as alumni of various AIIMS Institutes, it is speculated that 125+ is a par score to stand on a safer side whereas 130+ almost ensures you a seat in any one of the AIIMS.
Hope this helps.
All the Best!
