Banaras Hindu University (BHU) offers an exceptional academic and personal growth environment. Nestled in the culturally rich city of Varanasi, the university boasts a calm and peaceful atmosphere, making it an ideal place for focused learning and self-development. The classrooms are well-equipped with modern gadgets and smart boards, ensuring an interactive and up-to-date learning experience. The infrastructure is impressive, featuring spacious lecture halls, multiple large grounds for sports and recreation, and Wi-Fi access throughout the campus. Cleanliness is a priority at BHU, with the entire campus maintained in a neat and tidy manner. The hostels and cafeterias provide good and hygienic food options, supporting a healthy lifestyle for students. There are also plenty of beautiful and serene spots across the campus where students can relax and take a break from their routine. The faculty members are highly qualified and supportive, always ready to guide students both academically and personally. The overall campus community is warm and welcoming, with good-hearted people who contribute to a positive and motivating environment. In every aspect—be it academics, facilities, or campus life—BHU stands out as one of the best institutions in India.
Studying B.Sc. (Hons.) Computer Science at BHU has been a great experience. The teachers are knowledgeable and supportive, making complex topics easier to understand. Classrooms are modern, with smart boards and Wi-Fi, which adds to the learning experience. The environment is calm and clean, with good food and peaceful spots to relax. Overall, it’s a balanced and fulfilling academic journey.
While my academic experience in B.Sc. (Hons.) Computer Science at BHU has been positive—with good faculty, modern facilities, and a peaceful environment—it's disappointing that there are no placement opportunities for international students. It’s something that needs attention, as it affects future prospects despite the quality education
BHU offers great value for money. Everything inside the campus—from food to facilities—is affordable yet of good quality. It’s a budget-friendly place without compromising on education or campus life.
While BHU offers a good academic environment and value for money, the lack of hostel allotment has been a major issue. Since September 2024, we've been promised accommodation, but the date keeps getting delayed. On top of that, stipends are not provided on time, causing financial stress. These issues need urgent attention
BHU has a very impressive infrastructure with a vast, green campus , well equipped libraries, decent classrooms and hostels. However some older buildings need maintenance and wifi access can be patchy. Overall, it's a solid blend of tradition and modernity.
Academics in this course at BHU are strong, with experienced faculty and a well structured syllabus. The focus is more on theoretical knowledge that's why there is a lack of practical exposure and opportunities. Research opportunities exist, but classroom interaction can sometimes feel onesided.
Now talking about the placements scenario at BHU, the placements are minimal, in short. The university's placement cell primarily focuses on professional and technical courses, offering limited support for humanities disciplines. Student often pursue further studies or competitive exams. Internships are self sought, with minimal stipend.
BHU's BA Hons program is very affordable, with low fees and good academic resources. While placements are limited, the strong academic foundation and brand value make it more worthwhile , especially for students who are planning further studies or govt. exams.
Campus life at BHU is peaceful and vibrant, with a huge green campus in which different kinds of fests like kashiyatra and events are occured along with a decent hostel life. Overall, the campus life is decent with sufficient amount of exposure.
Yes college have all necessary and required facilities and infrastructures. Wifi is provided, classroom, laboratories, libraries, sports centers and hostels are all well maintained. Food and place is maintained and hygienic.
I am pursuing bsc computer science in bhu and here we are following NEP-2020 that helps us academically alot. Yes updated curriculum helps to develop our cv for jobs. It helps us with all recent required subjects for jobs.
For placements, very good, prestigious companies visit bhu. Already placements of the faculty of science has been high with good paying salary per anum. Bhu has always been active with students jobs and placements.
From day one, the professors here have been incredibly approachable—whether you’re wrestling with spectroscopy or organic mechanisms, they make complex topics click. Our labs are well‑equipped, and senior students readily share tips, so you never feel stuck. The campus is a green oasis: banyan‑lined pathways, the iconic Vishwanath precinct, and peaceful lawns perfect for group study or a quick break by the canal. Pros Engaged, friendly faculty Hands‑on lab work Lush, historic campus Cons Only one major departmental fest per year Central Library fills up fast during exams If you value strong academics and a serene campus, BHU Chemistry is a great fit—just don’t expect a nonstop festival scene.
Academics is very good. The department of zoology is outstanding. Every department is very well equipped with lap equipments. The only con is the college is very strict. If you are given hostel, you would be removed if you have less than 70 percent attendancee
As a Chemistry (Hons) student at BHU, I’ve found the placement landscape to be solid—if you’re aiming for roles in pharmaceuticals, research, and quality control. The Department of Placement & Training invites major recruiters like Dr. Reddy’s, Cipla, Lupin, and TCS Life Sciences every year. On‑campus interviews typically begin in January, with pre‑placement talks that help you understand role expectations and career paths clearly. Most core‑chemistry roles (analytical chemist, QC executive) offer packages in the ₹3.5–5 LPA range, while a few niche R&D positions can stretch up to ₹6–8 LPA. Many students also secure internships through BHU’s MoUs with national labs (NPL, IICT), which often convert into full‑time offers. For those targeting higher studies or government exams (CSIR‑NET, GATE), the placement cell organizes aptitude workshops and mock interviews, so even if you opt out of campus drives, you feel prepared. That said, placement numbers in pure chemistry are fewer compared to engineering streams, and the average package is modest. If you’re looking for high‑paying corporate roles, you might need to diversify into allied fields like data analytics or pharmaceuticals sales. Overall, BHU’s chemistry placements give you reliable entry‑level opportunities in core science—just don’t expect a flood of high‑ticket offers.
This college's infrastructure is truly impressive. The campus is stunning, with modern buildings, state-of-the-art labs, and cutting-edge technology. The library is a knowledge hub with an extensive collection of books and digital resources. The sports facilities are top-notch, and the auditoriums host amazing events.
Exceptional academics! Knowledgeable faculty, engaging curriculum, and excellent support system. A perfect blend of theory and practical learning.classes are very helpful. examination structure is very stunning.
Placements are a highlight here. Top companies visit campus, and the placement cell provides excellent support. From resume-building to interview prep, they've got you covered. Many students secure great offers.
hostel facility is basic but manageable, with decent food.it is within Faculty of science sankhiyiki bhawan. There are popular spots which every student should go like library for journals, limbidi corner, VT etc.
Statistical softwares like R, SPSS, SAS and python are well taugtbfor practical hands on learning.Professor alok kumar and akansha man are very approachable. There is CUET and JAM mentorship available.
Roles like data analyst ,statistical programmer, biostatistician, research associate is highly offered every year. Genpact, cognizant, ZS associates arrive. But as per opinions of students adani wilmar is best for students but competition is also high for it.
Statistics department is comprises all the facilities. Faculty is extremely knowledgeable. Researcher activities facilities is also available. Seminars are always conductor in auditoriums. Overall it is good.
Faculty teachers are mostly male teachers. Professor Gyan prakash singh is head of my department. Professor abhay kumar sir and professor Brijesh pratap singh are evey students favourite but yes they are little strict too.
Mostly students do get placements .it has demonstrated commendable placements outcome. Even I bagged a job with consultancy firm Adani wilmar but didn't accepted because I am doing further education in this field.
The infrastructure of the college is amazing. It is very beautiful all the departments and the faulty are good proper maintenance is being done. All the facilities are available in there. Everything is good.
banaras hindu university is known for its academic performance they proper amazing opportunities to grow into the different fields of the study as the student wish to. They give students wide coverage.
The placement cell of the university is pretty good. A lot of companies come for the placement offers. The placement is not so good for bachelor's course but it is good for master's course. And many more.
Banaras hindu university is one of the best university which provides best facilities in less fee, the fee is very less and it provides a lit of facilities in the campus as needed for the students ..
Campus life is amazing Many activities are being held whether it is sports fun dance or in terms of extra curricular activities they provide amazing college experience in terms of best and the best .
Our college boasts a well-developed infrastructure that supports both academic and extracurricular activities. The campus includes spacious classrooms, modern laboratories, a well-stocked library, and advanced computer centers with internet access. Additionally, it offers comfortable hostel facilities, a hygienic cafeteria, sports grounds, and auditoriums for events and seminars. The overall environment is conducive to learning and personal development, ensuring students have access to all necessary resources.
The college offers quality education with a well-structured curriculum, experienced faculty, and a focus on both theory and practical learning. Further it depends on faculty to faculty as well and course obviously.
I'm in my first year, so I don't have much firsthand experience with placements yet. However, seniors have mentioned that the college provides decent placement support through training sessions, workshops, and campus recruitment drives, which helps students prepare for job opportunities.
As a government college, the fee structure is very affordable compared to private institutions. Considering the quality of education, facilities, and opportunities provided, it definitely offers great value for money to students.
Being a BHU student, campus life is really something special. The lush greenery all around makes it feel like a peaceful retreat, and it’s easy to find a quiet spot to relax or study. The campus is in a safe location, and I feel secure knowing it’s well-prepared to handle any emergencies. There’s always something going on—whether it's cultural events, sports, or just hanging out with friends. It really feels like a great place to grow and make lasting memories.

Hi,
For Rajiv Gandhi South Campus Banaras Hindu University M.Sc. Soil Science / Soil & Water Conservation, official median and highest placement packages are not clearly published course-wise by BHU.
But based on available RGSC placement data, the average/median package across PG courses is usually around Rs 3–5 LPA. Highest
Hi Avinash,
You may choose BHU if you prefer traditional academic prestige and affordability or choose Christ University if your priority is modern, practical-oriented, and industry-linked education.
BHU conducts the School Entrance Test for admission to Class 9. Please appear in the entrance test, which is held in the month of April.
