24 MonthsThe MA Psychology (Psychosocial Clinical Studies) is an innovative programme carrying 70 credits across 4 semesters. This programme attempts to inculcate in students a capacity for clinical and critical thinking that will facilitate a nuanced sensitivity to diverse states of emotional experience, regard for the margins of 'Indian' society and a capacity to theorize the same. It may be thought of as a first attempt in India to redefine and provide a new direction to the disciplinary orientation of Psychology. We expect our students to engage effectively in academic and research fields. In addition, our focus on clinical thinking and related processes will, we hope, enable students to effectively respond to and work in contexts such as counseling and psychotherapy, which requires engagement with the nuances of feeling states and the richness of human subjectivity.
A candidate who has passed Bachelors’ degree with 45% marks (or equivalent grade) from a recognised university in any discipline (relaxation of 5% for candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ PwD categories).
Admission will be based on a two-stage process with a written examination and a personal interview.
