The IISERs are among India's top engineering institutions. The BS-MS Programme is for 5 years which is basically a very good option for students who want to grow as a scientist in their life. Apart from being a scientist:
1) jobs in private sectors ( MNC's like google, facebook, Philips etc)
2) Civil Services (IAS, PCS etc)
3) research and development
4) other govt sectors ( railways, income tax etc)
5) banking
6) Since it is a research course there are plenty of opportunities in abroad
7) work as a teacher/professor
8) can go for Ph.D
Note: Since this course is research oriented so the career opportunities are endless.

Dear Bipattaran,
IISER takes admission through KVPY, JEE Advanced and SCB channel.
You are applying through which channel?
You can refer below model test paper to get an idea through SCB channel

Good Luck!!
First of all, these three institutes are purely science institutes. While both IISc and IISER take through JEE Advanced or KVPY (IISc also takes JEE Main scores), NISER takes through NEST. There are no good institutes for nuclear engineering otherwise as it is a niche field considering that only IIT Bombay offers it and that is a 5 year course. JEE Advanced has to be cleared. IIT Bombay offers Energy Engineering with M.Tech. in Energy Systems Engineering (5 Years, Bachelor and Master of Technology (Dual Degree)) and not nuclear engineering as such.
You parents are right as the class 11 & 12 th marks are important. However entry to good institutes are through entrance tests so you will have to prepare for them. It is not a necessity that you should take coaching.
Hello Subhash,
For biology I would suggest you to go for NCERT biology book ( class 9, 10th 11th n 12th) . And one more book is Rapid biology by Reena Ahalawat...
And one more suggestion is that go through previous year sample papers so that you will get idea about the important concept/topic which you need to cover
I hope this helps
