48 MonthsITEP is a comprehensive four year undergraduate programme that emphasizes a dual-major approach, and seamlessly integrates teacher education within the broader higher education system. Started in academic session of 2023-24, it offers students the opportunity to pursue Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) with Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.). Students enrolled in this programme will complete their studies within a condensed timeframe of four years, as opposed to the conventional five-year duration mandated by the current B.Ed. Curriculum. ITEP will be available for all students who choose teaching as a profession after passing the exit examination of Higher Secondary (10+2) in any discipline (Humanities/ Science/ Commerce/ Others). The National Testing Agency (NTA) will be responsible for conducting the admission process for the programme. This will be done through the administration of the National Common Entrance Test (NCET).
Eligibility Criteria
1. Candidate must have passed the 10+2 exam (or equivalent qualifying exam) in all subjects and secured the following minimum aggregate or equivalent grades in 10+2 exam (or equivalent qualifying exam), depending upon their category: UR: 60%, EWS: 60%, OBC:55%, SC/ST/PWD:50%.
2. Candidate must have appeared in all 7 subjects of the National Common Entrance Test 2026 (NCET2026).
3. Candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 2006 (for UR and EWS), October 1, 2003 (for OBC) and October 1, 2001 (for SC/ST/PWD).
4. For admission in Physics (as major)
a. candidate must have written the NCET-2026 with Physics as one of their domain subjects.
b. candidate must have studied Physics and Mathematics in their 10+2.
c. candidate must have scored at least 60% (for UR and EWS), 55% (for OBC), 50% (for SC/ST/PWD) marks in Physics in their 10+2 exam (or equivalent qualifying exam).
5. For choosing Physics as a minor, candidate must have studied Physics and Mathematics in their 10+2.
6. For admission in Chemistry (major) a. candidate must have written the NCET-2026 with Chemistry as one of their domain subjects. b. candidate must have studied Chemistry and Mathematics in their 10+2. c. candidate must have scored at least 60% (for UR and EWS), 55% (for OBC), 50% (for SC/ST/PWD) marks in Chemistry in their 10+2 exam (or equivalent qualifying exam).
7. For choosing Chemistry as a minor, candidate must have studied Chemistry and Mathematics in their 10+2.
8. For admission in Mathematics (major) a. candidate must have written the NCET-2026 with Mathematics/Applied Mathematics as one of their domain subjects. b. candidate must have studied Mathematics in their 10+2. c. candidate must have scored at least 60% (for UR and EWS), 55% (for OBC), 50% (for SC/ST/PWD) marks in Mathematics in their 10+2 exam (or equivalent qualifying exam).
9. For choosing Mathematics as a minor, candidate must have studied Mathematics in their 10+2.
10. For admission in Economics (major)
a. candidate must have studied Mathematics in their 10+2.
b. candidate must have scored at least 60% (for UR and EWS), 55% (for OBC), 50% (for SC/ST/PWD) marks in Mathematics (10+2) exam (or equivalent qualifying exam).
11. For choosing Economics as a minor, candidate must have studied Mathematics in their 10+2.
