Nice college but lack of education and placement

    College Infrastructure

Very good infrastructure with every necessary facilities It is well equipped with gym Library swimming pool study room ac hostels playground stadium and very big sports facility It also has cafes for hangout

    Academics

Teacher teaches very easy topics but quesThe quality of teaching at this institution is a mixed bag. While some professors are genuinely passionate and knowledgeable, others seem disengaged. The curriculum, frankly, feels outdated. Key areas of recent industry developments are often overlooked, which creates a gap between what we learn in the classroom and what is required in the professional world. More focus is needed on practical application and modern tools rather than rote memorization of theoretical concepts. The current approach does not fully prepare students for the job market. tions very hard things in exam

    Placements

The placements cell makes an effort, but the results are just average. The number of core companies visiting the campus is limited, and many students end up in non-relevant sectors or with lower-than-expected packages. There is a significant disparity in the opportunities provided to different departments. The college needs to actively engage with a wider range of industries and provide better training for interviews and soft skills. The process can be more transparent and efficient to ensure every student gets a fair chance. Overall, improvements in both academic relevance and placement opportunities are crucial for the college's reputation and student success.

    Value for Money

My course cost approximately per year. I do feel I am getting my money's worth. The quality of education, the resources provided, and the practical exposure have been exceptional. The return on investment seems promising given the skill set I've developed and the placement opportunities available. The faculty are highly knowledgeable and approachable, always willing to go the extra mile to help students understand complex concepts, which significantly enhances the learning experience. The curriculum is also up-to-date with industry standards.

    Campus Life

Campus life at my college is vibrant and diverse. There are numerous clubs and societies catering to a wide range of interests, from technical groups to cultural committees and sports teams. The infrastructure is modern and well-maintained, including well-equipped labs, a large library with extensive digital resources, and excellent sports facilities. The student body is very collaborative, and there's a strong sense of community and support among peers. Regular events, workshops, and festivals ensure a balanced academic and social life, making the overall experience truly memorable and enriching. The college provides a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for all students to thrive.

    College Infrastructure

Yes, KIIT University has most of the necessary infrastructure, facilities, and equipment required for academics and campus life. The classrooms are generally well equipped with smart boards, projectors, audio systems, and Wi-Fi, making lectures smooth and interactive. Laboratories are adequately furnished with the required equipment for practical sessions, though the quality and usage can vary by department. Most labs are functional and reasonably maintained, but some feel outdated and could benefit from upgrades. The libraries are one of the stronger aspects of the university. They have a wide collection of textbooks, reference books, journals, and digital resources, along with access to online databases. Libraries are well-maintained and remain open for extended hours, especially during exams. Sports infrastructure is extensive, with large playgrounds, indoor stadiums, gymnasiums, and courts for multiple sports. These facilities are actively used by students and are generally well-kept. Hostel facilities are decent, with regular maintenance, electricity, water supply, and Wi-Fi, although internet speed can sometimes be inconsistent. Living spaces in hostels are mostly clean and regularly maintained, and housekeeping is done frequently. The mess food is hygienic and safe, though the taste and variety are average and can become repetitive over time. Overall, KIIT offers good infrastructure and facilities, and while there is scope for improvement in certain areas, the campus is comfortable and well-managed for student life.

    Academics

I am studying Computer Science and Engineering, mainly because of my interest in technology, problem solving, and the wide career opportunities the field offers. CSE also provides flexibility, as it allows students to explore software roles, higher studies, or government exams depending on their interests. The quality of teaching at KIIT University is average and inconsistent. Some faculty members explain concepts well and are supportive, but many rely heavily on PPT based teaching and focus more on theory than practical application. Because of this, self-study becomes very important. The curriculum is reasonably updated and covers core subjects like data structures, operating systems, databases, and computer networks. However, it does not fully include the latest industry tools and real-world practices. While the curriculum helps build a theoretical foundation, it does not by itself make students job-ready. To be industry ready, students need to work on coding practice, internships, projects, certifications, and competitive exam preparation alongside regular coursework.

    Placements

The quality of placements at KIIT University is decent overall, especially for CSE and IT branches. Most students become eligible for placements from the 6th or 7th semester, and the placement season runs for several months. The college brings in a mix of mass recruiters and a few high paying product-based companies. A good percentage of students get placed, mainly through mass recruiters like TCS, Accenture, Cognizant, Capgemini, Infosys, and Wipro, which hire in large numbers. For CSE, the average package is around ₹8.5 LPA, while the overall average across branches is around ₹6.5 LPA. High-paying companies such as NVIDIA, Meesho, Yugabyte, and similar firms do visit the campus, but they select only a small number of students, and the competition is very high. The highest packages usually go to CSE students, especially those with strong coding skills, projects, and internships. Placement support from the college is reasonably good, with training sessions, mock interviews, and aptitude preparation provided. The process is generally smooth and well organized, though cracking good offers depends largely on individual preparation. Personally, the placement process was manageable and not stressful, and the college was supportive in terms of information and opportunities. Overall, KIIT offers reliable placement opportunities, but securing a high paying role requires consistent effort beyond the regular curriculum.

    Value for Money

My course cost around ₹3.5 lakh per year (₹1.75 lakh per semester). Overall, the fees are on the higher side compared to government colleges, but they are in line with other private universities offering similar facilities. I feel the value for money is average. The campus infrastructure, hostels, libraries, sports facilities, exposure, and placement opportunities, especially for CSE do justify a part of the cost. However, the teaching quality and practical exposure are inconsistent, and a lot depends on self learning. If a student actively uses the opportunities available, the college can be worth the investment; otherwise, it may feel expensive for what is offered.

    Campus Life

The KIIT University campus is large, green, and well planned, with good academic blocks, hostels, sports facilities, and medical support within the campus. One of the best features is that it feels like a self-contained city, offering libraries, gyms, playgrounds, food courts, and medical facilities, which makes student life convenient and safe. There are plenty of activities students can engage in, including technical and cultural clubs, sports, fests, workshops, and events organized through KSAC. On the downside, the campus is very strict, especially regarding hostel rules and movement timings, which can feel restrictive. Due to the large student population, some facilities can feel crowded at peak times, and personal attention is sometimes limited. The students come from diverse backgrounds across India and abroad, which creates good peer learning and social exposure. Teachers are mixed in quality, some are helpful and experienced, while others are more formal and focus mainly on completing the syllabus. Support staff are generally cooperative and help with day-to-day needs. The campus is located in a well developed area of Bhubaneswar and is considered safe, with security personnel, CCTV surveillance, and controlled entry points. The university has its own medical facilities and can handle basic emergencies effectively, which adds to the overall sense of security.

    Others

Overall, KIIT University offers a structured and safe environment with good exposure, but students should not rely only on the system. To truly benefit, one needs to actively work on skills, internships, projects, and personal growth alongside academics. The college provides opportunities, but how much you gain from it depends largely on your own effort and involvement.

    College Infrastructure

I was consistently impressed by the expansive and highly organized campus, which feels like a fully equipped technical city. The Electronics and Telecommunication department had outstanding laboratories with current instruments for circuit design and signal processing. I appreciated the excellent air-conditioned classrooms and reliable network connectivity, essential for my final year projects. I believe the infrastructure is exceptional.

    Academics

I feel the core curriculum was comprehensive, giving me solid foundational knowledge in analog and digital communication. My professors were experts and provided clear insights into complex very large scale integration concepts. I wish the coursework had focused more on emerging fields like Internet of Things sensor design. I believe the teaching quality prepared me thoroughly for the essential engineering principles.

    Placements

I am satisfied with the placement opportunities I received, as the college successfully attracted top core companies and major Information Technology firms. The salary packages offered were very competitive for the Electronics and Telecommunication branch. Securing a core engineering job was tough, requiring specific technical knowledge, but the training helped me succeed. I feel the placement support was strong and delivered excellent results.

    Value for Money

I recognize the tuition fees are high, which is typical for a private institute with this level of infrastructure. I feel the cost is somewhat justified by the guaranteed access to premium facilities and strong placement exposure. I am confident my degree has opened valuable doors, providing a worthwhile, albeit expensive, return on investment. I think the cost matches the extensive resources provided.

    Campus Life

I absolutely loved the highly dynamic and non-stop campus life throughout my four years. The technical symposiums and major cultural festivals, especially annual Fest, were unforgettable. I was heavily involved in several departmental clubs and sports. I feel the residential life fostered an incredible sense of community and provided full personal development.

    College Infrastructure

I find the campus facilities absolutely stunning and incredibly vast, which I love exploring. The biotechnology department has state-of-the-art laboratory equipment, which is essential for my dual degree research. I appreciate the comfortable hostels and excellent centralized library for my late-night studying. I feel the college maintains a premier physical environment throughout.

    Academics

I feel the dual degree program is highly rigorous, demanding deep commitment to both engineering and research early on. My professors are experienced, and I find their specialized knowledge in genetics and bio-process engineering very helpful. I am consistently challenged by the coursework, which prepares me for the future master’s thesis. I believe the academic standard is excellent.

    Placements

I recognize that biotechnology placements are more niche than core engineering branches, which concerns me slightly. I know some pharmaceutical and research firms do visit, offering reasonable packages to my seniors. I understand I need to focus on building a strong research portfolio to attract the best opportunities. I believe the placement cell supports my efforts adequately.

    Value for Money

I realize the tuition fees are quite high, as this is a private university, which is a considerable financial outlay. However, I feel the cost is partially justified by the world-class infrastructure and the advanced laboratory access I receive. I am banking on the comprehensive dual degree qualification to provide a high long-term return. I think the value is fair for the quality provided.

    Campus Life

I genuinely love the extremely vibrant and active social scene that defines life here. The sheer number of technical and cultural events is unmatched, giving me many opportunities to take part. I enjoy the extensive sports facilities and the supportive residential environment with my batchmates. I feel campus life is rich and full of constant activity.

The infrastructure of my college is pretty good. Its really big and well maintained. The buildings are new and clean. My campus is campus 12 its very beautiful, almost every campus has a dedicated garden when students can chill in their spare times. The classrooms are air conditioned and pretty accessible for even people with disabitlities.

    Academics

Academics at KIIT are very strong according to my opinion. I personally have 8.8 cgpa. Teachers can be a bit egotistical sometimes but overall they are very good at teaching. There are a lot of research facilties also in the college.

    Placements

Placements are pretty good with a lots of companies visiting. The average package is also decent. Our seniors got placed in quite good companies. Although placements for core branches are way better but my Branch ECS is also giving good placements. About 85-90 percent students were placed which is a good number. And the average salary range is about 6-8 lakhs.

    Value for Money

I think KIIT is pretty good value for money. If compared to other private colleges it has good placements , a good environment, good exposure , great campus facilities. But mess food and hostel facilities can be improved. Also students get free medical checkups from KIMS which also helps them save a lot in the medical bills.

    Campus Life

Its good as well, events, clubs, fest nights, sports. There's always one or another event going on in the college. Cultural societies are highly enthusiastic and always organise interesting events for us to take part in.
