24 MonthsThe Department of Mathematics at Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati offers a 2-year M.Sc. programme in Mathematics and Computing. This programme blends relevant mathematics and computer science courses covering theoretical, computational and practical aspects. Whereas the core mathematics courses are aimed at building a strong foundation in the subject, the laboratory based courses give the exposure and training in application-oriented practical subjects. Students are exposed to advanced research topics through electives and a mandatory one-semester project work.

Eligibility Criteria
- All candidates admitted through JAM should have a Bachelor’s degree.
- In the qualifying degree, the aggregate marks or CGPA/CPI without rounding-off (taking into account all subjects, including languages and subsidiaries, all years combined) should be at least 55% or 5.5 out of 10 for General/OBC (NCL) category candidates and 50% or 5.0 out of 10 for SC/ST and PwD category candidates.
Admission Details
Students are admitted to MSc programmes through Joint Admission Test for MSc jointly conducted by IITs (IIT-JAM) examination.

College Infrastructure
It's considered as one of the best iit in India. It's infrastructure is unmatchable with any other iits. All the classroom has smart board as well as blackboard. Whole iit campus is enable with wifi. class rooms are very comfortable and classes are very interactive

Outstanding. IITG has all the necessary infrastructure, facilities and equipment. The facilities in classrooms, laboratories, libraries, sports centres and hostels are all used and well maintained. The living spaces are clean.
