MS Biotechnology at IIT Madras (IITM) Offline Course

Entrance exams will happen in four separate streams covering various areas:

1. Biological Sciences will involve aspects of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, etc.

2. Biological Engineering will involve aspects of Material and energy balances, Thermodynamics, Biological rate processes (Enzyme Kinetics, Microbial Growth and Product Formation Kinetics, Kinetics of Intracellular Processes (e.g. gene expression, protein synthesis, protein folding), Transport phenomena, Bioreactor design and analysis and Downstream processing

3. Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics will test on aspects of Organic, Inorganic and Physical Chemistry.

4. Computational Biology will test on aspects of mathematics, bioinformatics and computing.

Candidates will be short-listed for the interview based on performance in the screening test(s). Final decision on selection will be made based on overall performance.
