Netaji Subhas Open University Kolkata Admission 2026: Dates, Fees, Eligibility, Cutoff & Application Form

NSOU Kolkata admissions are offered to UG, PG and PhD courses. Candidates are given admission to UG and PG courses on the basis of marks obtained by them in the qualifying examinations. In the meantime, individuals who meet the basic qualifying requirements and have qualified for fellowships or scholarships in UGC-NET or who have a valid score in UGC-CSIR NET/GATE/CEED may be contacted directly for interviews. 

NSOU admissions are available for programmes like B.Com., B.Ed., B.Sc., BA, and B.Lib. I.Sc., M.Com., M.Ed., and M.Sc., M.S.W., MA, and a few others with several specialisations. For admission to Netaji Subhas Open University Kolkata, PhD courses, candidates who have cleared master’s in relevant subjects will be called for the entrance test and interview. 

NSOU Registration Process 2025-2026

• First, go to the Netaji Subhas Open University Portal and check out all of the information available on the Home Page.

• After selecting the Admission/Renewal/Merit Notification Box, click the Admission Link,a  new tab will open with the  NSOU admission Form.

• Fill in all of the required information and it is necessary to upload scanned documents.

• Click on the Submit Button and to make a payment, use online payment methods.

• Take a hard copy of the admission form and payment receipt for future reference.

NSOU Kolkata offers three-year undergraduate courses in B.Com., B.Ed., B.Sc., BA, and B.Lib.I.Sc.  Students must fulfil the requirements of their desired course in order to apply for NSOU admissions.

• Candidates seeking admission to NSOU Kolkata courses must visit the NSOU admission portal.

• Eligible candidates must apply for admission by filling out the application form.

• Choose the desired UG course from the courses list provided by the university. 

• Selection of candidates is done on the basis of their merit in the qualifying examinations.

• Upload Scanned copies of required documents at the time of NSOU admission

• A list of selected candidates is released by the university. If selected proceed to pay the required admission fee online

• Take a hard copy of the admission form and payment receipt for future reference.

NSOU Kolkata offers two-year postgraduate courses in M.Com., M.Ed., B.Sc., MA, M.Sc., MSW and M.Lib.I.Sc. Students must fulfil the requirements of their desired course to apply for NSOU admissions.

NSOU PG Course and Eligibility Criteria

NSOU Admission Process 2025-2026 for PG Courses

• Applicants for NSOU Kolkata courses should review the eligibility criteria for their desired programme and check the official NSOU Website.

• Eligible candidates are required to complete and submit the admission application form.

• For postgraduate courses at NSOU Kolkata, candidates must hold a bachelor's degree from a recognised university.

• Choose the desired postgraduate programme and select the preferred study centre.

• The selection of candidates is based on their merit in the qualifying examinations.

• Upload scanned copies of the required documents at the time of NSOU admission

• A list of selected candidates is released by the university. If selected, proceed to pay the required admission fee online

• Take a hard copy of the admission form and payment receipt for future reference.

The university offers admission to 2 PhD courses, i.e., PhD. Commerce and PhD. Library and Information Science. The duration of the NSOU PhD course is 6 years.

NSOU PhD Admission Process 2025-2026

• Candidates must meet the requirement in order to be admitted at NSOU Kolkata.

• The NSOU Kolkata application form must be completed by qualified applicants in order to be considered for admission.

• Eligible candidates may be invited to take the Netaji Subhas Open University Research Entrance Test (NSOURET) following RAC's evaluation of applications.

• After the entrance test, candidates are required to appear for an interview.

• At the time of the interview, candidates seeking admission to the Ph.D. programme have to discuss their research interest/area before the Departmental Research Committee (DRC).

• A list of selected candidates is released.

• Final step of admission includes payment of NSOU Kolkata fees.
