24 Months- Master of Science (M.Sc) Anthropology is a full-time two years duration postgraduate course and it is offered by the University of North Bengal, Siliguri.
- The Department of Anthropology offers Master of Science programmes in different fields of Anthropology. The academic programmes are so designed as to enable the students and scholars to acquire a good understanding of people, society and culture at the micro level. The special focus of the department is to examine and analyze the regional and local issues of greater anthropological significance. The department has an innovative plan to develop interdisciplinary interaction for strengthening its teaching and research programmes. Participatory approach and Lab to the Land method has been adopted to develop the teaching and research activities of the department. The thrust areas of the department are human nutrition, forensic anthropology, ethnomedicine, medical anthropology, developmental anthropology, and tribal development.````
Eligibility Criteria
A Candidate must be Honours graduates [10+2+3 system] in Sociology/Geography/Zoology/ Botany/Physics/Chemistry may be considered for admission to Anthropology only after considering the Honours graduates in Anthropology.
The candidates with Honours Degree [10+2+3 system] in the respective subject from a recognized University shall be eligible to apply for admission to M.Sc courses. Candidates who have passed UG examination three years earlier or more before the year of admission shall not be eligible for admission to M.Sc Courses (e.g., the candidate passing UG examination in 2015 or before shall not be eligible for admission.
Admission Details
Selection of the Candidates of the University of North Bengal shall be made according to the strictly on merit basis in obtained marks in the qualifying Examination.
