24 Months- Master of Science (MSc) in Mathematics is a full-time two years duration postgraduate course and it is offered by The University of North Bengal, Siliguri.
- The Department of Mathematics came into existence in 1962, with the major objective of developing a center for excellence in the region of North Bengal in Mathematical Sciences and Applications and to provide facilities for training, study, research in these areas. Main areas of Research are Real Analysis, Complex Analysis, Topology, Fuzzy Point Set Topology, Differential Geometry, Differential Equations, Dynamical Systems, Chaos and Fractals, General Relativity. The Department publishes an annual research Journal “JOURNAL OF MATHEMATICS” from 2007 (ISSN: 0974-388X). Till now five volumes containing articles of authors from India and abroad have been published.
Eligibility Criteria
- A Candidate must be Honours graduates [10+2+3 system] in Mathematics may be considered for admission to Master in Mathematics in any recognized University/college.
- The candidates with Honours Degree [10+2+3 system] in the respective subject from a recognized University shall be eligible to apply for admission to M.Sc courses. Candidates who have passed UG examination three years earlier or more before the year of admission shall not be eligible for admission to M.Sc Courses (e.g., the candidate passing UG examination in 2015 or before shall not be eligible for admission.
Admission Details
Selection of the Candidates of the University of North Bengal shall be made according to the strictly on merit basis in obtained marks in the qualifying Examination.
