24 Months- Master of Science (M.Sc) Biotechnology is a full-time two years duration postgraduate course and it is offered by the University of North Bengal, Siliguri.
- The Department of Biotechnology, University of North Bengal, promotes and facilitates faculty and student research in Microbiology, Biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, and molecular genetics. The department provides technical support for research and a nucleus for interdisciplinary research and training initiatives at the University of North Bengal. To assist in the preservation, creation, application, and dissemination of knowledge by teaching, research, and public service in a comprehensive range of disciplines, thereby serving the needs and enhancing the well-being of the people, in order of priority, West Bengal, India as a whole, and the wider world community.
- The Department of Biotechnology will spearhead research and educational programs in cell and molecular biosciences by leading research initiatives to increase the competitiveness of researchers at North Bengal University in this critical area. The program has been successful in producing the best of the human resources, transformed into worthy researchers and scientists, spread throughout India in premier research institutes and universities satisfying the national character and objective of the program.
Eligibility Criteria
The candidates with Honours Degree [10+2+3 system] in the respective subject from a recognized University shall be eligible to apply for admission to M.Sc courses. Candidates who have passed UG examination three years earlier or more before the year of admission shall not be eligible for admission to M.Sc Courses (e.g., the candidate passing UG examination in 2015 or before shall not be eligible for admission.
Admission Details
Selection of the Candidates of the University of North Bengal shall be made according to the strictly on merit basis in obtained marks in the qualifying Examination.
