Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering is a full-time four-year (8 Semesters) course approved by Vel Tech Rangarajan Dr Sagunthala R and D Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai. and AICTE.

Computer Science & Engineering involves the design and understanding of the computational process and programming languages. The syllabus includes topics such as algorithms, programming languages, operating systems, database management systems, computer network, computer graphics, and artificial intelligence. After the completion of the degree in Computer Science & Engineering, a student can work in the field of database management, embedded systems, IT, telecommunication, multimedia, computer hardware & software implementation, computer hardware & software maintenance, gaming, web designing, and other related industries. It is a broad field to work in private and government sector as well.

Eligibility Criteria

1- A pass in +2 (or its equivalent).

2- Those appearing for 10+2 (Class XII) final or equivalent examination in March / April / May can appear for VTUEEE.

3- For the purpose of consideration for award of the Vel Tech Mahatma Gandhi National Merit Scholarship, the state from which the candidate has studied and appeared for the qualifying examination (12th standard examination of the State or Central Board) will be taken as the state to which the candidate belongs, even though the nativity of the candidate may be another State or Union Territory.

Direct Admission- 10+2 system of Higher Secondary Examination conducted by any State Board, Central Board of Higher Secondary Education (CBSE, New Delhi); The Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE, New Delhi); National Institute of Open Schooling; Intermediate or two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board / University; High School Certificate Examination of the University of Cambridge or equivalent.

College Infrastructure

Campus is pretty decent and has all the basic stuff sorted. ECE labs are actually useful, not just for namesake—there are setups for circuits, communication systems, and some mini project work too. Classrooms are normal with projectors, nothing too fancy but gets the job done. There are chill spots around campus where you can sit during breaks, and the canteen options are okay-ish. Wi-Fi is there, but sometimes speed depends on the crowd. Overall, it’s not luxury-level, but comfortable enough for daily college life

College Infrastructure

The campus at Vel Tech is quite well-developed with modern academic blocks and essential student facilities. Classrooms are equipped with projectors and smart learning tools, and labs are designed to support practical understanding, especially for engineering streams. The central library is large, with 80,000+ books and access to digital resources like IEEE and NPTEL, which is useful for studies . There are also sports grounds, gym facilities, and common areas for relaxation. For a day scholar, spending time between classes is comfortable, although some areas may feel crowded during peak hours.
