Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering is a four-year full-time undergraduate program offered by the VIT-AP University, Amaravati.

The undergraduate programme in Mechanical Engineering has a strong focus on the design of mechanical systems and hands-on experience. The programme includes in-depth study of thermal, design, manufacturing, and automation courses at core curriculum level to design the systems relevant for industries. In addition to the theoretical and laboratory based curriculum, students have to complete engineering clinics courses and a capstone project. The students have to complete a co-op in the industry for one semester. This degree programme provides a strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering discipline, development of critical thinking, and problem solving skills. Besides the technical skills, the academic programmes also sharpen communication, writing, and problem solving skills.

Eligibility Criteria

The applicant should be a Resident / Non-Resident Indian National / PIO / OCI.
NRI applicants can directly apply under ‘NRI Category’ through the NRI application form.
Foreign applicants who have studied/are studying abroad can apply directly through the International application form.
Applicants whose date of birth falls on or after 1st July 2004 are eligible to apply for admission into Engineering in the academic year 2026.
The date of birth as recorded in the High School / SSC / X Certificate will be considered authentic.
Applicants should produce this certificate in original as a proof of their age at the time of counselling/admission, failing which their candidacy for admission will be cancelled.

Admission Details

Candidates appearing for the VITEEE-2026 should have either completed or shall be appearing in any one of the following qualifying examinations in 2026

The final examination of the 10+2 system, conducted by any recognized Central/ State Board, such as the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi; Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations or any other Board accepted by VIT as equivalent to 10+2 examination.
Intermediate or two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/ University.
General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London/Cambridge/Srilanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University/Pearson Edexcel regulated by UK For PCM : Physics & Mathematics - A Level/ Chemistry - A/AS Level and English - A/AS Level For PCB : Physics & Biology - A Level/ Chemistry - A/AS Level and English - A/AS Level
High School Certificate Examination of the International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.

i) For PCM : Physics & Mathematics - HL, Chemistry - SL/HL

ii) For PCB : Physics & Biology - HL, Chemistry - SL/HL

Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling with minimum of 5 subjects as recognized by central board.
Applicants who have completed the Class 12 (or equivalent) examination outside India should produce an equivalence certificate to the effect that the examination they have passed is equivalent to the Class 12 Examination with grade/CGPA converted to percentage.

i) Candidates who have studied in Regular, Full Time and Formal Education are alone eligible to apply. Candidates who have appeared for multiple board examinations in the same academic year are not eligible.

ii) For Indian nationals attending VITEEE 2026 is mandatory to be eligible for B.Tech. admission.

ii) In case VITEEE 2026 gets cancelled due to natural calamities or causes beyond the control of the institute, qualifying criteria may be substituted with higher secondary marks. Applicants shall be informed accordingly.

College Infrastructure

By the time you reach 4th year, you actually start noticing how useful the infrastructure is for core mechanical. The labs are properly equipped with machines like CNC lathe, milling, 3D printers, IC engines, and heat transfer setups, which helps in real understanding rather than just theory . Academic blocks are large and well-planned, with central facilities like library, auditorium, and student activity center all in one place .Workshops and labs are decent for projects, but compared to older campuses, exposure can still feel slightly limited in advanced research areas

College Infrastructure

Good infrastructure. Big buildings, very modern from inside out. Big classrooms. Projector in classes. Good table and chairs. Windows are big so no concern about ventilation. Plenty of chairs for everyone to sit.

The experience is okay. Not much good though.

College Infrastructure

College campus is quite huge but the distance between hostels and academic building is quite far. They didn't utilise the space much. Comparing to srm, Srm ap did a good job at fully utilising the whole place.
