Acharya’s NRV School of Architecture, Bangalore which was set up in the year 2009 specialises in providing architectural education. Situated in Soladevanahalli, Bangalore, this affiliated college is approved by the Council of Architecture to promote standard quality education for rural children in this sector. Located at a 2 acre land the institute provides a environment that is conducive for learning and development. The school, currently has a total of 350 students and a teaching staff of 22 thereby enhancing a good student faculty ratio. Under this domain the institute provides two courses in architecture for the undergraduate and diploma levels. Consequently, the problem of gender equity is relatively well solved at the university, as 51% of male students and 49% of female students create a comfortable learning environment.

In addition to classrooms there are many halls and infrastructures in Acharya’s NRV School of Architecture which are beneficial for students and academics. There are good boys’ and girls’ hostels on the campus of the college with facility for the accommodation of about 1500 students in single, twin, triplet, four abreast and six abreast rooms etc. The residence provides some of the facilities like TV and Newspaper in the common sitting area, sports facilities and even horse riding facility. The dining halls provide vegetarian as well as non-vegetarian obstacles and have the option of choice in the residents. Students gain all sorts of knowledge due to libraries, on the other hand, sports facilities encourage physical health. To complement teaching and learning, there is a cafeteria, free internet connection, enhanced information technology support so as to enhance teaching and learning. Transport facilities, well equipped laboratories, an auditorium, a mini health center and a mini gym to facilitate the overall development of the students is also available.

Acharya’s NRV School of Architecture provides two full-fledged courses in the area of architecture. The major non-executive programme is the five-year full time B.Arch course which has an approved strength of eighty students. Also, the institute provides three years full time Diploma in Architecture course having an intake capacity of 120 students. In general, both of the courses offered are essentially structured to enable students develop a strong endowment in both theoretical and practical aspects of architecture. In this regard, the B.Arch programme in particular, is aimed at creating professionals for the rapidly growing field of architecture by building their up theoretical as well as practical knowledge. There is no given total number of graduates for the latest year but the institute is keen on providing quality course offerings and services.

Acharya’s NRV School of Architecture does not offer direct admission as it admits students after selecting them from competition. For B.Arch admissions, there are eligibility norms in the form of National Aptitude Test for Architecture – NATA. The institute also follows the score acquired in Joint Entrance Examination (Main) for offering admissions to B.Arch programme. A recognition of these national level entrance tests guarantees the right calibre and zeal among the student fraternity coming to the institute. 

The above facts point to the fact that students whom the school admits also capture this diverse nature in the sense that 72% of students are from the state while 28% are from other states in India and a minute fraction of the student population is international students. This blend fosters a diverse learning culture that helps students to meet the challenges of practice in the current international architectural market. As for the current and detailed provisions of the scholarship, it still unknown however, the institute may provide all the possible facilities with some sort of financial aids for the deserving students pursuing the course in architecture.
