The college was established in 2007 and is an affiliated college situated in Uttar Pradesh, India Adarsh Janta Mahavidyalaya, Mirzapur. This institution is located at Shivpur village of Mirzapur district; it has been catering to the educational requirements of this area for about more than ten years. The college is located on a campus of 2.5 Acres, and it provides a number of of undergraduate, postgraduate programmes across the streams of education. Situated with a total student intake of 3,767 and having a faculty strength of 64, Adarsh Janta Mahavidyalaya has the ability to offer its students ideal learning conditions. It is accredited by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and the college offers quality teacher training courses. 

Adarsh Janta Mahavidyalaya has various facilities whose purpose is to complement the learning process of the college students. At the centre of these facilities there is a library, packed with books from different graduation level courses offered in school. These include six courses: They offer basic four years under graduate programmes of Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc), Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com), and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), and two post graduate courses of Master of Commerce (M.Com) and Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed). The college offers B.Ed and D.El.Ed programmes which have been approved for an intake capacity of 100 students each to replicate the college’s focus on teacher education. 

Admission procedures in Adarsh Janta Mahavidyalaya are a little different for each course that a student may be interested in taking. The B. Ed educational programme for the ad- mission into normal schools is administered on merit with regard to marks scored on the previous qualification and/or entrance examination. The college also motivates any other mode of selection as stipulated by the state government, UT Administration and the affiliated University. Likewise, for the D.El.Ed programme, admission procedure is based on merit and the marks of the qualifying examination and or entrance examination according to the policies of state government or UT administration as the case may be.
