The Adichunchanagiri Institute of Technology was established in 1980 at Chikmagalur city in Karnataka. The AIT Chikmagalur is affiliated with the Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum (VTU) and is approved by the All India Council for Technological Education (AICTE). The Institute is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with an “A” grade also the institute was accredited twice by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA).   

The AIT Chikmagalur offers several programs at the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels across 3 streams of Engineering and Architecture, Sciences and Management and Business Administration. The faculty is highly skilled and experienced and provides proper guidance to hone the skills of students. The institute has a dedicated placement cell that organises several campus placement drives to provide job opportunities to students. Many students have been placed in several reputed organisations through campus placements.
