The Advanced Plastics Processing Technology Centre (APPTC) Balasore Odisha is specialised institute for the education in plastics technology. This affiliated college was set up in 2010 in the IDCO Bampada Industrial Area and has a specialised curriculum in plastic processing and testing. This institute is duly recognised by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi to maintain the standard of education in the field. Situated in a campus of 8 acres APPTC Balasore prove to be an ideal place for learning as well as training. The Faculty and staff of the institute comprises of its 30 members and the university offers Four courses spread across two degrees – Diploma and Post Graduate Diploma in Plastic Technology and Plastics Processing and Testing.
The library at Advanced Plastics Processing Technology Centre, Balasore has been established to enhance academic as well as other areas of the student’s developmental facility. The institute has the hostel facility separately for boys and girls consisting of spacious, well furnished rooms with other modern amenities and neat and clean wash rooms. This institution has a free first aid and medical day care centre on campus to attend to ones’ medical emergencies. The college also has well-furnished gym for physical fitness for students of the college. There is an air conditioned library which contains more or less 1000 books and different magazines, journals, articles etc., which can help in expanding knowledge of the scholars. APPTC Balasore provides a total number of four full time courses in Plastics Technology. They are two Diploma programmes in Plastic Technology (day and second shift), and Post Graduate Diploma programmes in Plastics Processing and Testing in day shift and second shift. End each course has an approved intake of 60 students which in total makes a student intake of 240 across the various programmes. The classes are intended to offer the necessary academic concepts and professional experience on plastics processing and evaluation to students that graduated to work in the continuously expanding plastics market.
The admission into APPTC Balasore is particularly undertaken following performance in the CIPET Joint Entrance Exam commonly referred to as CIPET JEE. This exam is required by students who wish to begin their careers by embracing a course in plastics technology.
