Ajit Nursing Institute, Sunam was founded in 2009 and is one of the reputed nursing college situated at sunguru, Punjab. This is mixed institution of learning co-educational college which is affiliated to Baba Farid University of Health Sciences and approved by the Indian Nursing Council (INC). Located in 3 acre campus, Its four Full- time nursing programmes have a total enrolment strength of 291. The institute has a strength of 37 members of faculty that will assure the quality of the education in different specialisations in the field of nursing. By providing quality nursing education, Ajit Nursing Institute has carved a niche for itself in the region in providing education to those interested in nursing profession.

To cater the need of the students the institute has arranged several facilities, which can benefit the students’ academic and personal development. The modern library serves as a repository of new books that focuses on the nursing subjects such as; Medical Surgical Nursing, Pediatric Nursing, Community Health Nursing, and Mental Health Nursing. The campus has a state-of-art computer laboratory with sixty computers for ANM & GNM and B.Sc. students own separate sections. For the purposes of the practical assignments, there are specialised laboratories as Anatomy and Physiology Laboratory, Community, and Health Nursing Laboratory, Maternal and Child Health Nursing Laboratory, Nutrition Laboratory, and Fundamentals of Nursing Laboratory. To accommodate out-station students the institute has equipped separated hostels for boys as well as for girls so that the students can live comfortably.

As for the nursing programmes that Ajit Nursing Institute provides, it has four presented programmes, all of these programmes are full time courses ;- B. Sc Nursing (four years), Post B.Sc Nursing (two years), General Nursing Midwifery (GNM) which takes three years and Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery (ANM) lasting two years. The aggregate number of intake permitted for these programmes is 150, Out of which, there are 40 seat for B.Sc Nursing, 40 seats for GNM, 40 for ANM and 30 for Post Basic B.Sc Nursing. This amazing coursework offers programmes for different nursing learning levels, whether basic or advanced nursing courses to enable students to have his /herpreferred programme of study.
