The Akal Group of Technical and Management Institutions, Sangrur was founded back in the year 2011, it is an affiliated college situated in Mastuana Sahib, Punjab. This is a coeducational college and is recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) thus offering quality technical and management courses. Located off the Sangrur-Bhatinda Road along National Highway No.7, the institute provides a good environment in which to learn and develop. Although, there are no specific ranking figures available, its dedication to delivering education standards are manifested by its AICTE accreditation as well as a wide range of courses offered.

Akal Group of Technical and Management Institutions offers two postgraduate programmes: Post Graduate Programmes- Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Computer Applications (MCA). They are both regular programmes with MBA programme taking two years and the MCA programme taking three years. The institute has an approved capacity to admit 60 students per programme and hence the two programmes have an admission capacity of 120 students.. These programmes are intended to provide students with appropriate knowledge and skills which are necessary to solve emerging problems in the spheres of business management and computer applications. The faculty in the institute is very limited, and there are only 16 members of the faculty present in the institute, and this will prove beneficial for the students as a small faculty will be able to provide quality time for students.

The admission process of the Akal Group of Technical and Management Institutions is different in every programme. For MBA programme, it has own intake examination common to all; it is the Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) conducted at national level. This ensures that the institute gets the right kind of student that has the inclination to study management.
