Akshaya Institute of Technology located in Tumkur, Karnataka was established in 2009 and since its inception has established itself as one of the premier institutions of India. AIT Tumkur is one of the popular engineering colleges in Karnataka offering technical education in various branches of engineering. All courses are approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). 

The college was affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University Belagavi. AIT Tumkur offers engineering programmes at the diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Akshaya Institute of Technology Tumkur courses include Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Diploma in Computer Science and Engineering, Diploma in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, BE Electronics and Communication Engineering, BE Information Science and Engineering, BE Mechanical Engineering, and M.Tech. Admission to the courses are done on the basis of COMEDK UGET/KCET/Karnataka PGCET entrance examination.

AIT Tumkur has a state-of-the-art infrastructure and a team of highly qualified and experienced faculty. The institute provides all the modern facilities to enhance the learning experience of students. AIT Tumkur placement cell organises several seminars, webinars, workshops, industrial visits and guest lectures to enhance the skills of students. In 2025 more than 21 companies visited the college for placement, and out of 135 eligible students, 108 students got placement.
