Ographically situated in Sepfuzou Colony, Kohima, Nagaland, the Alder College, Kohima was founded in 1992. This affiliated college, however, has been pushing on the frontiers of progress in collegiate education for over thirty years. Located at 15,000 sq. ft in a 5-acre campus, Alder College is an institution that participates in offering programs of study towards an undergraduate degree with specialisations in arts/humanities streams. It is affiliated to the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) which asserts the college’s adherence to quality performances. Currently, Alder College has 429 students and 23 faculty members, which allows creating the most suitable conditions for learning and development.

The college has many amenities aimed at improving the quality of students’ life in college. It has central library facility with number of books, journals, newspapers, magasines, online database and reference sources to cater academic needs. For the accommodation of the needy ones, Alder College has separate hostel for boys and girls. Just some walking distance from the campus, two hostels; the Heritage Hostel and Anchor Hostel can host over 110 students in total.

Alder College currently has seven undergraduate programmes, and all the programmes are full time. The Bachelor of Arts program is offered in a variety of concentrations such as English, Economics, Education, History, Political Science and Sociology and more. For these programs, each is structured to give students a mastery of the content area so that they can pursue advanced coursework or professional jobs.
