Annai Vailankanni Arts and Science College, Thanjavur: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

AVASC inaugurated in the year 2009 is an Arts and Science college for both men and women named Annai Vailankanni Arts and Science College, Thanjavur. This affiliated college is located in Tamil Nadu, India and this college covers a total of 12.48 of acres of the area. As ASVAC, currently it has 25 courses available in 9 kinds of degree programs from undergraduate to postgraduate. The college has the total enrollment capacity of 3074 students and 109 faculty members, and the optimal ratio of students to teachers is maintained. With regard to gender, the distribution at the institution is fairly equitable at the undergraduate level 68/32 (male /female) and postgraduate level 53/47 (male /female).

This policy agreed to and supported by AVASC aims at creating a positive learning environment for its students. This college provides adequate amenities to support learning and development of the learners. These include; hostel for boys with a seating capacity of 154 and hostel for girls with a seating capacity of 256. The hostels also get to feed their students with healthy meals in clean environment and provide them with indoor and outdoor sport facilities to play in. 

The two sections in the college library that contain a relatively more and more extended list of books, journals, and e-resources are Science and Arts. For information technology gifted students, the campus; has both ERP and Wi-Fi internet connection. The college is also well endowed with excellent LABS for Physical, Chemical, Biological and Visual communication media, language laboratory.

In addition to this, AVASC has various disciplines with a full complement of offered courses comprehensively. University offers 25 courses in under graduate and 6 courses in post graduate level proffering fully fledged courses only. In the academic year 2022, total number of students admitted in this college were 3074 with total undergraduate students 1981 and postgraduate students 269. The college also offers doctorate degree courses in English, Commerce, Mathematics and Computer Science thus showing its interest in research and higher learning.

The admission Features of AVASC entails the admission requirements or policy of the institution through being comprehensive and taking into account merit only. Thus, the college is said to intake students at certain times but the academic calendar of the affiliated university is followed. Financially, AVASC’s student support focus is felt most keenly; during the academic year 2022, 993 undergraduate and 118 postgraduate students received reimbursals.
