Annai Veilankanni’s College for Women of Chennai was founded in 2000 and has been offering quality education to women in the center of Tamil Nadu capital. This affiliated college approved by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) mission is to nurture young women through quality education. Located on a relatively small piece of land measuring 3.12 acres in Saidapet, the college has expanded to admits students arising to 2044 enrollment of which are female only. The college have a strength of 62 faculties, which teaching 15 course across 8 degree programs in specialization areas such as Commerce, Computer Science, Biochemistry & English etc.

That is why the college is honored to offer students an intellectual environment with all necessary up-to-date amenities for students’ adequate development. Equipped with adequate health resource facilities which comprise books, magazines, and journals from and within various fields. It’s not just an acoustic space for learning; it becomes vibrant especially during the competition most especially during the Library Week. 

For those who have a talent in sports and fitness activities, the college provides first rate amenities and fosters students’ participation in inter-zonal, state and national tournament levels. Outstanding students enjoying athletic facilities are offered fee waivers and an advantage in admission, thus showing that the institution values the talent in all its forms.

Annai Veilankanni’s College for Women has provided degree programs of various fields so as to meet the needs and expectations of the students in the present world. The institution offers fifteen courses five of which are post graduate while the other five are undergraduate Programs. In this level of education, the most selected courses include; business commerce, accounting and finance, computer science, business administration, and computer application among others. Doctorate: Registered Master of Science in Computer Science, Commerce, Biochemistry and Master of Human Resource Management are postgraduate courses offered in the college. 

All courses are daytime, thus making sure that the students gain profound knowledge of their respective areas of specialization, as well as actual working experiences. However, actual enrolment per intake for each course is not well illustrated, but the general enrolment is at 2,044 students, of which 1,716 are undergraduates and 186 are postgraduates.
