Master of Education (M.Ed) is a two-year full-time postgraduate course approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and offered by Shivaji University, Kolhapur.

Eligibility Criteria

A candidate should have passed the Bachelor’s Degree/Master's Degree in any faculty (Sciences, Social Sciences/Humanities/Commerce/ Bachelor in Engineering / Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics) from Shivaji University, Kolhapur, or any other recognized university with at least 50 % marks. She/he should have offered at least one school subject at the first and/or second-degree level as a principal subsidiary or allied or optional subject. (School subject means the subject included in the syllabus of Secondary/Higher secondary level of State/ Central Education Board in India). For Foreign students, the Maharashtra State Government rules will be applicable.
B.Ed /B.A. B.Ed /BSC B.Ed /D.EL.Ed with an undergraduate degree ( with 50% marks in each)
The reservation and relaxation of 5 % marks will be given to the candidates belonging to S.C. / S.T. / V.J.N.T. / O.B.C. /P.W.D. and other notified categories as per the Maharashtra State Government Rules.

Admission Details

Admission to the eligible candidates shall be made on merit based on marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or in the entrance examination or as per the selection procedure laid down by the State Government of Maharashtra and Pravesh Niyantran Samiti, Mumbai, from time to time. The CET will comprise the subjects, namely, Mental Ability, Teacher Attitude, Teacher Aptitude, and General Knowledge.
