Bachelor of Education or B. Ed. is an undergraduate program of a 2-year duration. The course specifically caters to the students who are interested in pursuing a career in teaching and related fields. It is a skill-based training program that imparts knowledge to students regarding all aspects of classroom teaching.

The 2-year program is generally divided into four semesters by the institutes and structured in a way that not only involves classroom-based teaching but also practical training and internships. Candidates must be aware of the B.Ed syllabus for a better understanding of the course.

Eligibility Criteria

The minimum qualification required for entry into B.Ed. the course is Bachelor of Arts (B.A), Bachelor of Science(B.Sc.), or Bachelor of Commerce(B.Com.) from a recognized board/university with at least 50% marks.
Students need to appear in an entrance test conducted by the various states and Independent educational bodies and universities for admission in various teaching institutions attached with it according to the rank of the candidate in the entrance exam.
These exams are generally held in the month of June-July and consist of Objective type questions about English, General Knowledge, Aptitude, Basic Arithmetic Teaching Potential, and one local language in some states. Admission Details

Admission Shall be Made on merit on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or in the entrance examination or any other selection process as per the policy of the state government/U.T. Administration and the university.
